I volunteer at Rocky Mountain National Park thru the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society NoCoAstro. We bring our telescopes out for public sky gazing events throughout the year. Check out the schedule if your interested in seeing some pretty cool stuff; planets, star clusters, nebula and even galaxies. That being said, it ain't Hubble.
I got this info in the ROMO VIP newsletter yesterday. Thought it might be of interest to anyone planning on heading to the park this weekend . . . and the pics are pretty cool too. Lotta snow up there. They got 36" from the last storm.
We are unable at this time to "predict" when Trail Ridge Road will open. We will continue to clear the road and assess road conditions with park staff and visitor safety as our top priority.
We will distribute a news release by Friday morning with an update of conditions on the road. The current status of Trail Ridge Road is updated on our recorded status line (970) 586-1222
